My Professional Development Plan

As a teacher I will improve my professional competency and proficiency levels by preparing interesting lesson plan by using ICT. Such as creating a conducive virtual learning school environment through wireless internet, creating a positive environment for student learning such as communicate challenging learning expectations and the use of ICT in the teaching and learning process as a means to widen student's knowledge, skills and experiences beyond the textbook.

To achieve this I will attend in-house training conduct by the MOE and the State Education Department to increase my computer knowledge and skills in using ICT. At this moment, I further my study in UPSI by taking ICT subject for the same reasons. Besides these, I also involved in motivational talks and leadership workshop to improve my knowledge and skills in managing my subject panels as well as providing leadership.

Although I had attended the training programme developed by the English Language Teaching Centre Malaysia (ELTCM) known as EteMS to enhance my english skills for effective teaching using English as a medium of instruction and continuing my professional development, I still need more training in preparing my self to teach biology in English especially in: speaking in English; delivering instruction of biology in English; devising strategies for teach biology in English; conducting question and answer session with student in English; and guiding students to use English in learning biology. But then, I'm very lucky because apart from the face training sessions the EteMS structure also integrates ongoing language support such as Buddy Support programme to recognize the need for continuous teacher support at school level.
