My Philosophy of Teaching and learning
All students can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. Effective learning requires a collaboration between teachers, students and parents grounded in mutual respect and trust.
I believe learning takes place best in a positive safe environment filled with laughter. To achivie this, I will include interesting learning activities in my lessons to grab the attention of students and inspire them to learn. I guide my students to explore meaning, engage in critical thinking and conduct their own experiments. Student's active and fun role as learners and thinkers in my class helps them to enjoy learning and get excited about their education.
When I feel success I let them know, and when I feel discouraged I talk about that and often ask for help. That same participation demonstrates the importance of my own continuous growth as a learner, and my self-reflection on that process.
When I teach I also want students to know that I care about them, I am interested in them, and I respect them; so I work very hard to make sure my students find me accessible. because of that effort, I create a strong sense of community in my classroom.
I strive to continue learning how I can improve my teaching by furthering studies in UPSI, because I love to teach and find it very rewarding.
